Cristo dice:
«Yo soy el Señor, que da fuerza en el día del mal.» (Nahum 1: 7)
Venid a mí cuando no esta bien así contigo.
Christ says:
“I am the Lord, who give strength in the day of trouble.” (Nahum 1:7)
Come to Me when it is not well with thee.
Esto es lo que la mayoría de todo obstaculiza el consuelo celestial, que tú eres lento en convertir a ti mismo a la oración. Porque antes que tú ores fervientemente a mí, buscas primero para muchas comodidades y agradado a ti mismo en las cosas externas.
Y por lo tanto, se trata de pasar por todas las cosas aprovechan de ti poco hasta que lo tome aviso que yo soy El que ofrece a los que confían en mí. Tampoco hay fuera de Mí cualquier poderosa ayuda o consejo provechoso, o remedio duradero.
This is that which most of all hinders heavenly comfort, that thou art slow in turning thyself to prayer. For before thou earnestly prayest to Me thou seekest in the meantime many comforts and delightest thyself in outward things.
And hence it comes to pass that all things avail thee little till thou take notice that I am He that delivers those that trust in Me. Nor is there outside of Me any powerful help, or profitable counsel, or lasting remedy.

Es una cosa vana y poco rentable para concebir, ya sea el dolor o la alegría de las cosas futuras, que tal vez nunca sucederán.
It is a vain and unprofitable thing to conceive either grief or joy for future things, which perhaps will never happen.

Believe in Me and trust in My mercy. When thou thinkest I am far from thee, I am often nearest to thee.
Cuando tú juzgas que casi todo está perdido, entonces muchas veces es que tú eres en el camino de lograr el mayor mérito.
When thou judgest that almost all is lost, then oftentimes it is that thou art in the way of gaining the greatest merit.
No todo está perdido cuando algo se cae de lo contrario que tú habrías ella.
Tú no debe juzgar según tu sentimiento presente, ni dar a ti mismo en la forma de problemas, desde dondequiera de dónde viene, ni tomes tan como si toda esperanza se ha ido de ser librado de ella.
No penséis a ti mismo totalmente desamparado, aunque durante un tiempo te he enviado alguna tribulación, o la retirada de ti el confort que tú deseas; Pues este es el camino hacia el Reino de los Cielos.
All is not lost when anything falls out otherwise than thou wouldst have it.

“As my Father hath loved me I also have loved you,” said I (Christ) to My beloved disciples (John 15:9), whom certainly I did not send to temporal joys, but to great conflicts; not to honors, but to “bring forth much fruit in patience.” (Luke 8:13).
Reflexiones prácticas:
Yo soy el Señor, dice el Todopoderoso, por boca de uno de sus profetas, que dan fuerza a las almas en el día de la angustia, y entregar los de peligro que ponen su confianza en Mí. Cómo consolar, ¿cómo alentar y apoyar, estas son las palabras a un alma que, en el tiempo de la prueba y la adversidad, es fiel y constante a lo que Dios requiere de él! Esto es lo que la Escritura llama a esperar y apoyar el Señor. Crea en mí, dice nuestro bendito Salvador, y tu corazón no será problemático ni lleno de miedo. Por lo cual, en ocasiones de la aflicción interior o exterior, debemos, en primer lugar, recurrir a Dios con confianza, en segundo lugar, debemos resignarnos a Su bendita voluntad; en tercer lugar, no debemos descuidar cualquiera de nuestros ejercicios espirituales; en cuarto lugar, debemos someter a nosotros mismos, frenar y renunciar a nosotros mismos en todas las cosas, para que podamos actuar en concierto con Dios; en quinto lugar, debemos tener en cuenta que nuestro bienestar y nuestro mérito de ser afectados, atormentados, y, por así decirlo, aniquilados por el honor de la majestad de Dios; en sexto lugar, debemos estar contentos de llevar un corazón crucificado, un sufrimiento corazón y penetrado con amargura y tristezas, a imitación de nuestro Jesús crucificado.
Practical Reflections:
I am the Lord, saith the Almighty, by the mouth of one of His prophets, who give strength to souls in the day of trouble, and deliver those from danger who put their trust in Me. How consoling, how encouraging and supporting, are these words to a soul that, in the time of temptation and adversity, is faithful and constant to what God requires of it! This is what the Scripture calls to wait for and to support the Lord. Believe in Me, says our blessed Savior, and thy heart shall not be troubled nor fear. Wherefore, upon occasion of interior or exterior affliction, we should, in the first place, have recourse to God with confidence, secondly, we should resign ourselves to His blessed will; thirdly, we should not neglect any of our spiritual exercises; fourthly, we should subdue ourselves, restrain and renounce ourselves in all things, that we may act in concert with God; fifthly, we should consider it our welfare and our merit to be afflicted, tormented, and, as it were, annihilated for the honor of God’s majesty; sixthly, we should be content to carry a crucified heart, a heart suffering and penetrated with bitterness and sorrows, in imitation of our crucified Jesus.

No, Señor, no voy a renunciar a todo por perdido cuando tú pareces a retirar a ti mismo de mí; pero, por el contrario, voy a creer todo lo ganó cuando mi alma, aunque se hunde bajo la fatiga, y marchita con amargura, deberá resignarse a tu santa voluntad, y vivir sólo en ti, diciendo con el Profeta, me comprometo a Ti toda mi fuerza, para mi alma está en tus manos, y tu misericordia apoya y alienta mi corazón al beneficio por el sentido de mis miserias. No, Lord, I will not give up all as lost when Thou seemest to withdraw Thyself from me; but, on the contrary, I will believe all gained when my soul, though sinking under fatigue, and withered with bitterness, shall resign itself to Thy holy will, and live only in Thee, saying with the Prophet, I commit to Thee all my strength, for my soul is in Thy hands, and Thy mercy supports and encourages my heart to profit by the sense of my miseries. Abandon me not, O God, to the disorder of my passions, but be Thou their master by Thy grace, and keep me always in the possession of Thy love. Amen.
